I’m very glad to announce that the webpage for the Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA) Mexico is now live.
CAA is an international organization that brings together specialists in archaeology, computer science, mathematics, geographic information science, history, cultural heritage, conservation, digital humanities, web science, and museum studies that are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration.
The first CAA conference was organised in the UK in 1973 and since then, it has evolved into an international event, taking place each year all around the world.
The Mexican chapter of the international non-profit organization “Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology” (CAA Mexico) was established in 2012 and we are planning to organise the first CAA-Mexico in 2015. You can subscribe to the national chapter here.
In the meantime, the National Institute of Anthropology and History has launched its first initiative to assess the state of the art in the country with the “Primer Congreso de Patrimonio Cultural y Nuevas Tecnologías”. We are looking forward to see the developments in the next years.
