I’m really glad to see that the efforts from the Archaeological Computing Research Group at Southampton University and particularly their work on Digital Humanities are now reaching the wider community. This is reflected in the launch of their online course The Archaeology of Portus: Exploring the lost harbour of ancient Rome.
Those with a particular interest in Roman Archaeology will find this very interesting, and I’m glad to say that the exciting things about this course do not stop there. Portus has been a testing ground for many innovative digital approaches and techniques in the last few years, so you will also get to learn from experts like Graeme Earl more about the technologies applied there.
Congrats to the soton folks for this brilliant effort!
