CAA GR – Call for membership

The Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA)
is an international organization that brings together a range of
scholars, specialists and experts in the fields of archaeology, history,
cultural heritage, digital scholarship, GIS, mathematics, semantic web
and informatics with an interest in interdisciplinary cooperation. Its
aims are to encourage communication between these disciplines, to
provide a survey of present work in the field, and to stimulate

The Greek chapter of the international non-profit organization “Computer
Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology” (CAA-GR) was
established in 2012. Members of CAA-GR are scientists from the fields of
archeology, social sciences, life sciences, arts, mathematics,
information technology, engineers and scientists in all fields of
cultural heritage.

The objectives of the organization are:

1. to encourage the communication between these disciplines,
2. to provide an overview of current research in the field of computer
applications and quantitative methods in archeology,
3. to give rise to debate and future progress in the area of research,
4. to offer guidance and support in the form of seminars and / or
5. to publish the results of research reported in scientific meetings
organized by the CAA-GR,
6. to support relevant research in these fields in the region of the
Eastern Mediterranean.

The call for membership of the Greek Chapter of the international
organization “Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in
Archaeology” is now open.
